CJRL publishes two times per year, during the Fall and Spring. The Journal welcomes the submission of original manuscripts — Articles or Essays — from scholars, practitioners, and policymakers.
All manuscript correspondence should be submitted through ExpressO or Scholastica. We also accept emailed submissions sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. We ask that both text and footnotes are typed. We also ask that the manuscript is double-spaced with one-inch margins and conforms to the most recent edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. Please submit a resume or curriculum vitae along with the piece. Submissions from current students will not be considered.
We no longer accept mailed submissions.
CJRL IS AN ExpressO Top 10 LAW REVIEW
We accept submissions on a rolling basis, although it is best to submit by mid-August to be reviewed for the Fall issue and by early November to be reviewed for the Spring issue. We are currently accepting submissions for Volume 10.
All submitted manuscripts that are considered in the scope of the Journal undergo a blind peer review process, which means that while peer reviewer identities are kept confidential, author identities are made known to reviewers.
REQUEST TO EXPEDITE REVIEW:
Authors may request an expedited review of a submission when faced with a deadline for response to another publication offer. Requests for expedited review may be made through ExpressO, Scholastica, or via email to email@example.com. Requests for expedited review should include:
- Authors’ names, email addresses, and direct phone numbers
- Submission title
- Existing offer and deadline
- Date by which the author would like a response
We will endeavor to accommodate expedited review requests, although we may ask the author to request an extension from the publication that extended their existing offer. We wish to ensure that each author receives a full and adequate review.
